A read-aloud and hands-on painting workshop where young children explore how colors mix and change. Using the picture book Mouse Paint as a starting point, kids experiment with red, blue, and yellow paint to discover new colors firsthand, then use what they've learned to paint their own imaginative "Color Creature." The session is playful and low-pressure, designed to build early color awareness through storytelling and creativity.
An interactive, discussion-based workshop where kids learn how artists use color on purpose to set mood and tell stories. Rather than a traditional art project, students explore primary, secondary, and complementary colors through a fast-paced Four Corners movement game, then work in small groups on a Gallery Walk, analyzing real artwork to identify color schemes and the feelings they create. It's a hands-on, low-material way to build visual literacy through talking, moving, and looking closely at art.
